The Person of Jesus Christ
Paul said in Philippians 3:10, ‘that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection‘ and in another place, ‘I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;‘ Galatians 2:20.
As Christians, it is vital to understand that Christ now lives in us and has become our ‘life‘. We can only live out the life of Christ in us if we come to know His person and power through His Spirit in us.
The Holy Spirit and Prayer
If you are not filled with the Spirit of God, you cannot effectively function as a Christian and enjoy your inheritance in Christ. As a born again Christian, you become baptised by the Holy Spirit and are now a heir of God Almighty.
Jesus promised to not leave us as orphans after His ascension and said in His stead, God’s Holy Spirit will come to earth, not just to be upon God’s people and leave like in the old covenant days, but to dwell in us continuously.
The Holy Spirit can be so much to us and do the unimaginable through us if we yield ourselves to His leadership and be continuously filled up with Him as Paul admonished in Ephesians 5:18.
Becoming a Christian begins with believing in our hearts but doesn’t end there. It is those who both believe in their hearts and confess with their mouths the Lordship of Jesus Christ over their lives, that become born again into the new eternal life as children of God (Romans 10:9-10).
What you confess daily has the power to shape your life and world. Get into the habit of praying and confessing the truth of God’s word over your life everyday.
The Principles of God
The word of God should be the final authority on how to live as a Christian; not your thoughts, fears, worries or feelings. God has provided principles in His word to equip us for living a victorious life and walking in our inheritance as His children.
Every Christian has received an inheritance in the new life in Christ. This is the life Jesus suffered and died for us to have and enjoy in abundance. It would be a shame to live a defeated life after His glorious sacrifice for us. If you live by God’s principles, you will see the supernatural results in your life.

The Christian Life
The most important question you would ever ask yourself as a Christian is this, ‘do I truly believe?’. This is where everything becomes new for us. This is how we are translated into God’s Kingdom as His heirs and co-heirs with Jesus Christ.
At the end of His ministry on earth, Jesus emphasised the importance of our belief just before he ascended to Heaven, as recorded in Mark 16:14-20;
‘Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. And He said to them,
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen’.
Everything about the life of Christians is built upon the foundation of what we believe.
